Washington did not like it one bit. I remember working a case involving stolen firearms. I went to the federal building to get books from the ATF not knowing they moved and it was only the FBI at that building. Instead of telling me they moved, an FBI agent came out and brought me to a conference room. He sat on the table over me and said, what can you tell me about Arpaio? I was taken back and told him about wanting investigative books from the ATF. He said they moved to another building.
I told this suit I didn't know anything about Arpaio and left.
The interesting thing was now we see these same agencies going after conservatives on a regular basis. Even then, under Obama, they seemed to be targeting individuals over speech and if you were an outspoken elected Sheriff or Politician, they targeted you.
